Peach Cobbler - Marlene
Ingredients

Sifted all-purpose flour

Milk |

beaten egg |
Dough Preparation
- Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt
- Cut in butter till mixutre resembles coarse crumbs
- combine milk & beaten egg
- Add to dry mixture and stir just to moisten
Peach sauce |

cornstarch |
1/4 to 1/2 tsp |
cinnamon |

nutmeg |

brown sugar |
1/2 C |

4 C (or 2 lbs) |
Peaches (Sliced) |
1 TBLS |
lemon juice |
1 TBLS |
butter |
1/4 tsp |
almond flavoring |
Cobbler Preparation
- Combine cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and brown sugar in the water in a saucepan.
- Cook and stir till thickened
- Add 4 cups of sliced peaches, lemon juice & butter
- Cook till peaches are hot (5 minutes)
- Stir in almond flavoring
- Pour filling into 8-1/4 x 1-34-inch round baking dish
- Immediately spoon on biscuit topper in 6 mounds.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
- Serve warm with cream or ice cream.
Yield: 6 servings
** You can double the recipe and put it into a 10" x 15" dish.... but maybe triple the batter.....
*** You may also use Betty Crocker's Bisquick. Follow directions for shortcake. It works very well, especially if you are in a hurry.
